WHY RENT AT SEKREPATU AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
How do I qualify for a house?
To be eligible for a home, you can register with Sekrepatu. Here you will find the registration form. If you return this completed form, you will be registered as a home seeker. The registration fee is SRD 7.50. The form states which documents you must enclose. Registration costs for residents are SRD 25 and non-residents € 25.
Are there vacation apartments available?
Yes. Sekrepatu has 4 fully furnished apartments which are offered as holiday homes. These apartments can be rented for a maximum of 1 year.
My neighbors give me a hard time? What next?
The Residential Services Department will always talk to both parties. If necessary, the neighborhood manager is brought in. If there is no change in behaviour, the process will be started in court to dissolve the agreement with the person causing the nuisance.
Why should the rent be paid in Euros?
The Sekrepatu complexes are developed with a foreign loan which must be repaid. As a result, the foundation is obliged to determine the rents in euros. Euros for redemption are not freely available.
Is the lease contract for an unlimited time?
The leases are for an indefinite period. In specific cases (for example, when letting business premises) this can be deviated from.
I want to rent a house which is now not available now.
If you have a preference for a specific home or neighbourhood, you can state this when registering. If no homes are available, your request will be placed on the waiting list until the intended home becomes available. Periodically we also contact you to inquire whether you do not want another home.
Can a loyal tenant buy the house on long term??
No. Sekrepatu no longer sells homes.
Can I vouch for a tenant?
Yes, provided you meet the income requirement and are willing to pay a deposit of 4x the rent.
What is the rent increase?
The rents can be increased annually by a percentage between 1% and 4%. The rent increase is based on the cost increase in construction on the one hand and the operating costs of the organization on the other.
What if I cannot pay the rent?
If you are unable to pay the rent, it is possible to sign an IOU with the collection agency. If you do not adhere to the agreements made, the process will start in court to terminate the agreement with you. We prefer to avoid this! In these cases, please always contact the office as soon as possible, so that we can find a suitable solution together.
Is it possible to buy the house after a few years?
That possibility does not exist. Sekrepatu also has no hire purchase.
Is there a waiting list?
There is a waiting list for some projects. At the moment there is a waiting list for the different types of housing. When you submit your registration form, we can inform you about the status of the different housing types.
